Antioxidants are particles that prevent cell damage caused by free radicals, and they also lead to a better, more healthy immune system. Curcumin has also been shown to reduce LDL-cholesterol, blood glucose, and blood pressure is possible.

Does Curcumin Have Side Effects?

There are no negative side effects associated with curcumin if it is taken as recommended. Studies have shown that adults can take up to 8 grams of curcumin and other curcuminoids without experiencing serious adverse effects. However, long-term studies that are more comprehensive in their assessments are needed. However, at higher doses, some minor side effects can pop up. The side effects people are most likely to see are nausea, headaches, and gastrointestinal complaints, and diarrhea.

That being said, if you typically don’t eat foods with turmeric but you want to add curcumin into your diet, supplements are considered safe and no adverse side effects have been reported at low doses.
